Arizona StretchLab Locations to Host Blood Drive and Free Stretches for Community Heroes
By Lisa Padilla - Wednesday Mar 25, 2020
The American Red Cross reports donations are down and blood supplies are at risk across the country. In an effort to support the community during these unprecedented times, StretchLab, an assisted stretch concept, will host a blood drive at its Grayhawk location (20511 N. Hayden Rd.) in North Scottsdale on Thursday, March 26, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and at its Gainey location (8787 N. Scottsdale Rd., Suite 218) in Scottsdale on Tuesday, April 14, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

“In Arizona, there have already been 78 blood drive cancelations as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic,” says Regional Communications Officer Colin Williams. “We are so grateful to StretchLab for stepping in to help our community during this health crisis.”

The American Red Cross has implemented many new safety protocols to conform with social distancing guidelines. In addition to temperature checks, increased questioning, increased cleaning and donation table spacing, the Red Cross is strongly encouraging everyone to schedule an appointment to donate blood at StretchLab by visiting http://www.redcrossblood.org, or by downloading the Red Cross Blood, Donor app. Scheduling an appointment and answering pre-screening questions will reduce the donors' time at the drive and help maintain social distancing.

StretchLab is also offering free stretch sessions to Scottsdale fire and police departments, teachers and those who work year-round to keep the community safe. To support this initiative, StretchLab is allowing members to donate their unused stretches to community heroes. StretchLab will match those donations at its Arcadia, Gainey and North Scottsdale locations. Gifted stretches will be available to redeem upon its re-opening. StretchLab is already able to provide 100 donated stretches from community support received through this matching initiative.

“Our heart goes out to the community during this time,” says Arizona StretchLab Co-Owner, Danica O’Leary. “The Valley’s first responders, nurses, doctors, grocery store clerks, delivery drivers and other essential workers are working tirelessly to serve us, and we want to do our part in saying thank you.”

StretchLab has also introduced StretchLab GO, which offers free live national stretch classes on the StretchLab GO Facebook page. Everyone is encouraged to follow along for daily stretches that participants can do at home to help people maintain a healthy routine. To participate, visit @StretchLabGo on Facebook.

Founded in 2015, StretchLab’s mission is to allow its clients to reclaim their freedom through gaining a wider range of motion and flexibility. The Flexologist Training Program requires all trainers to complete 60 to 70+ hours of theory and hands-on training while learning the muscular system assisted stretches and how to work with a variety of clients. Stretching caters to everyone from professional athletes, those recovering from injury and clients of all ages and body types.
