Downtown Glendale Artists to Create Live Murals Honoring Veterans and Military Families
Ten local artists will paint tribute murals during the October 25 Sunday Brunch Art Crawl, celebrating the service and sacrifices of Glendale’s Hispanic veterans.
GLENDALE, AZ — Downtown Glendale will honor veterans and military families through a live art tribute on Sunday, October 25, 2026, as ten local artists create murals recognizing the courage, dedication and sacrifices of those who have served the nation.
The live painting event will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. along 58th Avenue, just north of Glendale Avenue, during the Sunday Brunch Art Crawl in Historic Downtown Glendale.
Inspired by the “A Salute to Our Veterans” plaque installed at Veteranos Park in 2025, the artists will create Veterans Day tribute murals on 4-by-7-foot canvases. Visitors will have an opportunity to meet the artists, watch the artwork develop and reflect on the stories behind the tributes.
Each mural is intended to recognize those who made the ultimate sacrifice, honor veterans who returned home and acknowledge the families whose love and support are an important part of military service.
“This live art event gives our community a meaningful way to honor the courage and sacrifice of Glendale’s Hispanic veterans,” said Glendale City Councilman Leandro Baldenegro. “As these murals come to life, they will help preserve their stories, celebrate their service and inspire future generations.”
An Invitation to Veterans and Military Families
The event welcomes local veterans, military families and the broader community to experience the artwork and connect with neighbors in the heart of Downtown Glendale.
Organizers hope the gathering will provide an opportunity to recognize not only those who served in uniform, but also the families who supported them throughout their service.
The live painting is part of a broader tribute designed to carry veterans’ stories into the community and help ensure their contributions are remembered by future generations.
Murals to Be Displayed Throughout November
Following the October 25 event, the completed murals will be displayed throughout Downtown Glendale during November.
The artwork will also be featured at the 2026 Celebration at Veteranos Park on Saturday, November 7, from 9 a.m. to noon, extending the tribute into the Barrio Corazón y Alma and continuing the community’s recognition of those who served.
Local media are invited to cover the live painting event and help share the invitation with veterans and military families throughout the Valley.
