Westgate Entertainment District to Celebrate ESPN’s College GameDay
By Claire Natale - Thursday Apr 04, 2024
Glendale Entertainment Hub to Offer Live Broadcasts, Fan Zone, Food, Drink and Entertainment for College Basketball Fans

GLENDALE, Ariz. – Due to its walkable proximity to the stadium and this year’s NCAA Men's Final Four, Westgate Entertainment District will be host to ESPN’s famed College GameDay on April 6 and 8. Exact show times to be announced next week but are slated for Saturday afternoon and Monday evening ahead of the games.

At Westgate’s Fountain Park (9401 W Westgate Blvd.), ESPN will be broadcasting live before both game days, April 6 and 8. Eventgoers can stop by to be part of the live audience and catch up with the latest insights, analysis and predictions from the experts.

“We are thoroughly excited to partner with ESPN during Final Four weekend in Glendale,” said Jessica Kubicki, director of marketing for YAM Properties. “Glendale has built a reputation as a big event host. Big events bring big events and Westgate will be no exception to that on April 6 and 8. In addition to ESPN’s live broadcasts, we will have fan festivities for ticketholders and non-ticketholders alike, from an explosion of food and drink options to interactive experiences.”

At Westgate’s WaterDance Plaza (6751 N Sunset Blvd.), there will be a designated “Fan Zone”, where guests can immerse themselves in the spirit of college basketball with interactive fan activities, photo ops and giveaways.

Special activations include a live graffiti artist personalizing basketballs for a limited number of guests and STUDEX’s piercing tent, which will be replete with hoops, basketballs, water coolers, ball carts, sports bottles and locker stalls, all to help emulate a real "locker room" atmosphere for college basketball fans. Guests also can "shoot their shot" throwing swishes to win a free ear piercing.

For fans who need to pick up last-minute items to rep their team, Just Sports will be selling top team merch with three locations spread across Westgate’s campus. Additionally, guests can patronize Westgate’s selection of restaurants and socially competitive experiences including axe throwing, escape rooms, bowling, mini golf, arcades and more throughout the entire weekend.

Westgate’s parking lots will have a charge for parking during set windows throughout the weekend. Parking details are as follows:

• Friday, April 5 – $30/vehicle charge from 5–10 p.m.
• Saturday, April 6 – $50/vehicle charge from 10:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.
• Sunday, April 7 – Free parking all day
• Monday, April 8 – $50/vehicle charge from 1–8 p.m.

Guests are highly encouraged to arrive early to beat any traffic and review Westgate’s Code of Conduct before attending this event. Westgate does not allow guests to bring their own alcoholic beverages or to tailgate in the parking lots.
