Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans Day in Mesa on March 25

More than 8 million U.S. troops served in Vietnam. The last combat troops were withdrawn from Vietnam at the end of March 1973. These veterans came home to a country divided on feelings about the war. Many who returned didn’t receive recognition for their service. This upcoming Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans Day event honors veterans who served on Active Duty in the U.S. Armed Forces at any time during the period of November 1955 to May 1975 regardless of location.

Hundreds of veterans and attendees are expected at Mountain View Funeral Home and Cemetery in Mesa for an incredible 50th Anniversary Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans Day event on Saturday, March 25th that will include:

A replica of the Vietnam Wall (pictured below, people walk inside to view)

Free haircuts for Veterans
100 vendors offering various services for Veterans
Native American and Mexican Folk Dance Troops
Wreaths Across America Educational Trailer
Live bands
Food trucks
Collecting non-perishable food items to benefit the Superstition Community Food Bank
