Walmart and Sam’s Club Fight Hunger. Spark Change. Campaign Returns to Phoenix

United Food Bank, a member of Feeding America, a U.S. hunger relief organization, is excited to announce that the 11th annual Fight Hunger. Spark Change. The campaign will return this April. All Walmart stores and Sam’s Clubs in the East Valley will work together to help raise significant funds for United Food Bank which will in turn be used to support local community members struggling from food insecurity and hunger.

The campaign will run in stores and online from April 1 – 29, with three ways for shoppers to participate:

• For every participating product purchased in store or online at Walmart.com or SamsClub.com, the supplier will donate the monetary equivalent of at least one meal ($0.10) on behalf of a Feeding America partner food bank at Walmart and five meals ($0.50) at Sam’s Club, up to applicable limits.
• Donate at check-out in stores or clubs. Customers can also round up their purchase on Walmart.com and the Walmart app.
• By donating at Feeding America’s Fight Hunger. Spark Change. campaign donation site at either FeedingAmerica.org/Walmart or http://www.FeedingAmerica.org/SamsClub.

“The number of Arizonans struggling from food insecurity in the East Valley has increased tremendously over the years,” said United Food Bank CEO Jason Reed. “We are so grateful for Walmart and Sam’s Club for their support in addressing this issue and assisting in the fight to end hunger in our communities.”

Purchases and donations made in-store or online are tied to zip codes and go to the local Feeding America® partner food bank in that community. Since its inception in 2014, this campaign has generated more than $186 million and helped secure nearly 1.9 billion meals for the Feeding America network of local food banks.

The 20 participating suppliers for Walmart include: Bush Brothers & Company; CELSIUS® Essential Energy Drink; The Coca-Cola Company; Conagra Brands; Dole Packaged Foods; Ferrara; Ferrero; General Mills; Hain Celestial; Hershey Salty Snacks; Hidden Valley Ranch; Kellanova; W.K. Kellogg Company; Keurig Dr Pepper; Kodiak; Kraft Heinz; Monster Energy; Pepsi-Cola Advertising & Marketing, Inc.; Red Bull North America; Unilever.

The eight participating suppliers for Sam’s Club include: General Mills; W.K. Kellogg Company; Kraft Heinz; Nestlé; Nissin; Nongshim; Palmetto Gourmet Foods, A Borealis Foods Company; Unilever.
