Trusting Connections, an award-winning nanny and childcare agency offering customized childcare solutions, founded by two female University of Arizona grads, has extended a big promise to Phoenix-area Girl Scouts. As we approach Arizonans’ favorite cookie-buying season, the agency proudly announces their fifth annual Girl Scout Cookie Buying Event. This program is aimed at encouraging Girl Scouts of today to become the courageous leaders of tomorrow by championing their efforts to learn business, communication, decision-making and leadership skills.
On Thurs., Feb. 13, 2020, co-founders Rosalind Prather and Caroline Wesnitzer will be at the Marriott in Chandler (1600 S. Price Road, Chandler) ready to cast their vote of confidence in young women with their wallets. They have pledged to purchase cookies from every Girl Scout that comes to sell boxes of deliciousness between 3:30 and 5:30 p.m. In the spirit of the educational purpose of this program, Prather and Wesnitzer ask that each girl give a brief sales pitch before being invited to draw from a jar that will contain notes indicating how many boxes the agency will purchase (1-25 boxes).
This very well-received event gains popularity every year and has its origins in Tucson, where the co-founders first offered the event five years ago.
Prather and Wesnitzer hope that this event will encourage other female business owners to join them in their efforts to support Girl Scouts. Given that both women became business owners at the age of 24 and attribute their success to the many people who believed in them, their personal and organization goals align with Girl Scouts’ theme of being “2.5 million strong-1.7 million girls and 750,000 adults who believe in the power of every G.I.R.L. (Go-getter, Innovator, Risk-taker, Leader)™ to change the world.†This is a mission they believe in wholeheartedly.
