The Wigwam, a 440-acre oasis resort in the West Valley of Phoenix, Arizona, has been recognized with Global Biorisk Advisory Council® (GBAC) STAR™ accreditation. Under the guidance of GBAC, a Division of ISSA - the worldwide cleaning industry association, The Wigwam has implemented the most stringent protocols for cleaning, disinfection and infectious disease prevention across the resort. Considered the gold standard in outbreak prevention, response and recovery for prepared facilities, GBAC’s STAR™ verifies that The Wigwam has implemented best practices to prepare for, respond to, and recover from outbreaks and pandemics, including COVID-19.

The historic resort stepped right up during the COVID-19 pandemic, adopting The Wigwam Cares Wellness policy to prioritize the health and safety of guests and staff, including following all guidelines issued by the Centers for Disease Control. The resort also launched its own Sanitation and Wellness Awareness Team (SWAT) with members deployed and visible throughout all public areas to regularly spray and wipe down surfaces such as pool chairs, door handles and more. The SWAT continues to remain in action daily and can be seen throughout the resort.

Fall into The Wigwam

The Wigwam is now looking ahead to welcome families and friends to relax in the sunshine amid cooler autumn temperatures and enjoy onsite amenities and services including dining and drinking at Red’s Bar & Grill, Wigwam Bar, and Litchfield’s. Guests can enjoy live music at all three dining venues, with a full schedule of performers posted online. Other highlights include: three 18-hole championship golf courses; swimming in the Tower Pool and Oasis Pool; salon and spa services at Lemond’s Aveda Salon – Spa; and energizing activities at the Tennis & Fitness Center. The resort will host a number of seasonal activities for guests and locals during the month of October, including Litchfield Park Oktoberfest, Paint Night at The Wigwam and supporting Arizona Assistance in Healthcare through proceeds from menu items at Wigwam Bar, Red’s Bar & Grill and Litchfield’s.
