One holiday experience that can’t be missed this season is the viewing of the beloved story of the Nutcracker. Kimberly Lewis, the owner of Dance Studio 111, will present the 24th production of The Arizona Nutcracker on Dec. 16 and 17 at The Madison Center for the Arts.
Come experience the magical world of the Nutcracker performed by local dancers and actors, ranging from 3 to 19 years old. Watch as dolls and clowns come to life, see a Christmas tree grow through the roof and experience snow falling right inside the theater.
The magic continues as audiences witness the Nutcracker defending himself and Clara from the Mouse King and its army of mice, angels who dance on clouds and the Sugarplum Fairy as she welcomes Clara and her prince into the land of sweets.
Formally known as The Ahwatukee Foothills Nutcracker Ballet, The Arizona Nutcracker is a one-of-a-kind performance featuring young, talented dancers. The cast and crew work on the production from August till curtain up to bring this holiday classic to life. The production features over 400 professionally designed costumes and headpieces.
The Arizona Nutcracker is perfect for the entire family! Watch your child as they connect to the young performers on stage. The cast and crew of The Arizona Nutcracker treats everyone as a family and invites all Arizonans to come enjoy the magic of the ballet.
On Dec. 16 and 17 at both 1 p.m. shows, Santa Claus will make a special appearance along with the cast to sign autographs.
