With COVID-19 numbers on the rise again, many Valley healthcare facilities are overwhelmed with patients and need all the support they can get. A massive part of ensuring that medical professionals can give the best care is having steady supplies of blood for patients who need it.
On Saturday, December 19, the Tempe Diablos in partnership with Vitalant, more than 40 community members donated blood – enough units to help 126 different people. Vitalant also tested all blood and platelet donations for COVID-19 antibodies, to help patients currently fighting the virus. For those who were unable to make the Tempe Diablos event, Vitalant will be hosting the state’s largest drive on January 2 and 3 at various locations. Appointments are recommended for social distancing: visit http://www.Vitalant.org/SaveAZ.
