(PHOENIX – Nov. 8, 2023) Southwest Behavioral & Health Services (SB&H), an innovative leader in behavioral health, has entered an agreement to provide comprehensive school-based mental health services to students and their families at the Surprise Resource Center.

The partnership provides the community with access to a team of qualified and licensed mental health professionals to provide a range of services, including individual counseling, group therapy and crisis intervention. Additionally, the program will focus on early intervention and prevention, seeking to identify and address potential mental health concerns before they escalate.

“Everyone should have access to quality mental health services,” said SB&H Program Director Kathy Villa. “Our partnership with the Surprise Resource Center is a big step and we’re proud to be helping students and families in the Surprise area unlock their potential and emotional wellness.”

Individual and Family Counseling
Psychoeducational and Therapeutic Groups
Community Outreach
Resource Development and
Child and Family Team Process (an aspect of the Arizona Model for Children and Families)

Southwest Behavioral & Health Services school-based services are currently in 166 schools in Maricopa County comprised of 29 school districts.
