Southwest Behavioral & Health Services Hires Heather Cunha as Chief People Officer

(PHOENIX–Nov. 9, 2022) – Southwest Behavioral & Health Services (SB&H), an innovative integrated health leader, announced it has appointed Heather Cunha as Chief People Officer.

An industry leader with more than twenty years of people experience, Cunha has managed a diverse group of teams and programs and has held her last five positions at the executive level. Cunha’s specialties include strategic planning, employee and union relations, and human resources development.

“Heather’s background and knowledge about human resources and community relations will be a real asset to our organization, and we look forward to welcoming her to our team,” says CEO Steven Sheets.

Prior to joining SB&H, Cunha held the roles of vice president of human resources for Harkins Theatres, vice president of human resources for True Food Kitchen, and senior regional director of people and culture for Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants. Partnering with leadership to influence human capital and culture, Cunha will connect business objectives to people initiatives with the goal of enhancing active employee investment and involvement.

Cunha has also been on the board for the Hotel & Restaurant Foundation and Dress for Success San Francisco. Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certified since 2007, Cunha received her bachelor’s degree in human communication from California State University, Monterey Bay.
