Southwest Behavioral & Health Services Announces Stephen Thompson as New Board Chair

(PHOENIX â€“ May 10, 2021) Southwest Behavioral & Health Services (SB&H), an innovative leader in behavioral health and integrated healthcare services, has announced Stephen Thompson as the new board chair. Thompson joined the Board of Directors in 2019 and succeeds former chair, Matt Hatfield.
â€œAs the board chair, Stephen will lead the Board of Directors and work collaboratively with executive leadership to support the efforts to meet the ever-changing needs of the communities we serve,â€ says CEO Steven Sheets. â€œHe will be a tremendous asset to the team.â€
Thompson is the current owner and executive director of SYNERGY HomeCare - Northwest Valley, a non-medical home care agency that provides personal care, homemaking and companionship for the elderly and disabled. In his role, he provides overall executive leadership to the SYNERGY franchise of Northwest Valley.
Thompson has previous board membership experience, serving on boards at AdviNOW Medical, Independent Association of SYNERGY HomeCare Franchisees (IASHF), Arizona Non-Medical Homecare Association (AZNHA), Home Care Association of America Arizona Chapter, and Integro Bancorp, Inc.
Thompson is established in the finance and accounting industry with experience as a partner in a â€œBig Fourâ€ accounting firm, chief financial officer, and small business owner with executive positions at OneWest Bank, Countrywide Bank and Deloitte & Touche.
Thompson earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Southeast Missouri State in 1984. He is a Certified Public Accountant and a National Association of Corporate Director Governance Fellow.
