Pipeline AZ, an Arizona career development and job skills exploration platform, is partnering with Maricopa Community Colleges to host a virtual job fair to provide job seekers resources to learn more about job training, education and employment in a variety of skilled trades. This virtual job fair, along with a series of virtual presentations from Arizona employers that are hiring, gives students the opportunity to explore different career paths. These events lead into the in-person Skilled Trades Expo 2022 hosted at Estrella Mountain Community College’s West-MEC Southwest Campus on April 30, 2022.
Through the Pipeline AZ platform, job seekers upload their resume and take an assessment to get matched with available or potential career opportunities. Employers can upload job opportunities and identify the desired skill set for each role to get matched with candidates. Job seekers and employers are invited to register for the virtual job fair and reserve their spot for one or all the following events:
● Virtual Job Fair, now – May 15, 2022, hosted by Pipeline AZ
● Virtual Presentation Series, Apr. 25 – 29, with hiring representatives from the skilled trades
● In-Person Job Fair, Apr. 30 from 10:00am – 1:00pm at Estrella Mountain Community College West-MEC Southwest Campus
“Skilled trades in industries like energy, construction, semiconductor, advanced manufacturing, distribution and more have seen a tremendous amount of growth as more businesses and industries are planting their roots here in Arizona,” said Mary Foote, Director of Pipeline AZ, an initiative of the Partnership for Economic Innovation. “The skilled trades offer a promising career path for those just out of school or those looking to make a career change, as we’ve seen from so many of our employer partners across these industries.”
“The Skilled Trades Expo has grown since its inception in 2017 to include both virtual and in-person opportunities for employers and job seekers to learn and share information. It is a very targeted approach to recruitment, focusing on matching job skills with job opportunity.” said Landis Elliott, Workforce Development Manager at Estrella Mountain Community College.
Confirmed companies participating in some or all of the hiring events include Amazon, Arcas Machine, Balance Staffing, Ball Corporation, Bizerba, Cardinal Glass Industries, City of Avondale, City of Phoenix, Dexcom, Eclipse Automation, fairlife, Five Below, Freeport-McMoRan, Forms+Surfaces, Huhtamaki, InterLink Engineering, JDR CONTRACTING INC, Kanken Techno Co., Ltd, KOKUSAI SEMICONDUCTOR EQUIPMENT CORPORATION, McCarthy, Modern Industries, NXP Semiconductors, Power Plus, Sunland Asphalt & Construction, Teopros, and more.
