Rosendin Sparks Student Interest in Electrical Careers
By Laura Slawny - Monday Apr 19, 2021
On April 9, Rosendin, the nation’s largest employee-owned electrical contracting company with a regional office in Tempe, hosted a popular booth at the Queen Creek High School Career Fair 2021. Rosendin guided students through opportunities to enter the workforce after graduation or college, answering questions about the industry, job openings, and salary ranges.

Dozens of companies participated in Queen Creek High School’s Career Fair from 16 different fields including agriculture, education, finance, and marketing. The construction industry is one of several facing a workforce shortage in Arizona, so representatives from Rosendin and Adolfson & Peterson Construction (AP) also offered advice for those seeking training and apprenticeships.

“The electrical apprenticeship program through the IBEW (International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers) and NECA (National Electrical Contractors Association) provides opportunities for people to become a skilled craftsman in a highly specialized industry with structured, hands-on learning and Rosendin is proud to support these local programs,” said Aimee Olmedo, Rosendin Training Coordinator.

“As a general contractor, Adolfson & Peterson Construction knows first-hand that there’s more demand than supply when it comes to skilled tradespersons like electricians right now,” said Scott Salyer, Regional Manager for AP. “We’re happy to partner with Rosendin to show students in Queen Creek the value of this career path.”

Rosendin is one of the region’s largest electrical contracting companies focused on heavy industrial, commercial, and high-tech construction. Landmark projects in Arizona include a long-term project at an East Valley semi-conductor manufacturing facility, the new Veterans Affairs healthcare facility, Sky Harbor Int’l Airport People Mover, and Tempe Streetcar project.

Rosendin promotes a diverse and inclusive workforce for skilled and unskilled workers interested in construction, engineering, technology, office management, and other career paths. For career opportunities visit https://www.rosendin.com/careers.
