Rocky Mountain Emmys Announces Nominations for 2021

The Rocky Mountain Southwest Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has officially released its full lineup of Emmy nominations. The organization is thrilled to reveal the 44th annual Rocky Mountain Emmys Awards will take place on Saturday, November 6 at The Phoenician Scottsdale and will also offer a virtual option. The Rocky Mountain Emmys honors outstanding television professionals in Arizona, New Mexico, Utah and El Centro, California.

Nomination sneak peeks were released all last week on the organization’s Facebook page, leading up to today’s announcement. Categories included Continuing Coverage, Human Interest Short Form Content, Sports Story Content, Societal Concerns News, and Craft Anchor News/Sports.

The first Rocky Mountain Emmy Awards was held nearly six decades ago in 1962 and has recognized many accomplished individuals and organizations in a variety of categories including sports, weather, education, politics and business. This year’s event will also feature a livestreamed experience through the new Emmys® app. The complete list of nominations can be found online HERE.

Despite all the challenges, our professionals continue to evolve and turn these dynamic times into opportunities to present their stories. The work in this year’s program is imaginative, pioneering and expands the boundaries. Recipients will be announced during our in-person and virtual ceremony on November 6th. It will be available for viewing on many platforms, as well as through our website. app and social media channels.”

The Student Production Awards’ nominees are also live online HERE. The student Emmy event will also take place Saturday, November 6 at The Phoenician Scottsdale and virtually. The event recognizes outstanding high school and college television producers and journalists. Students will receive awards in a variety of categories including newscast, music video, fiction and nonfiction, sports, talent and commercial.
