Registration Open for Inaugural Inclusive Public Esports Tournament benefiting the Ability360 Power Soccer Team
By Lindsay Hansen - Monday Jun 05, 2023
Ability360 is hosting an Independence Cup esports tournament on July 4, 2023. The inaugural inclusive online esports tournament featuring Rocket League as the premier game of choice. Registration is capped up to 32 teams, with each team comprised of 3 players. Registration is free and now open at https://ability360.org/360esports/.

Rocket League and power soccer share a common theme of playing soccer in non-traditional ways. However, power soccer is specifically designed for individuals with disabilities, and players use power wheelchairs. While Rocket League has become a mainstream esports title with a competitive scene and professional players, power soccer has also gained recognition as an adaptive sports game, with international tournaments and organizations deciding to promote the sport.

Corporate sponsors are available and range from $5,000 to $25,000. All proceeds raised will benefit the Ability360’s power soccer program. The event was created to honor Ability360 power soccer players Austin Cuaderno, Everett Frahm, Dalen Soto and Chris Schwab.

If you are interested in sponsoring this event, please contact Meghan Fable, director of development at [email protected].
