Ravenscroft Brings World-Class Musical Events to Scottsdale

Arizona’s premier concert venue The Ravenscroft announces several world-class musical events coming to Scottsdale this spring.

Located at the Perimeter Complex in Scottsdale, Ravenscroft is a stunning 30,000 square foot music venue and multi-use space. The jazz hall has an intimate setting with 200 seats and showcases world-renowned and Grammy-Award winning artists. The Hall offers an unparalleled musical experience with superb acoustics featuring the renowned Meyer Constellation sound system for an optimal listening experience and perfect view from any seat. The performance venue also includes the Jazzbird, a modern lounge with an urban New York City jazz club theme, and hosts music from popular and up & coming local musicians while guests enjoy wine, local craft beers and catered meals during the performance.

Passion: A Good Friday Experience
Friday, April 7 at 4PM and 7PM
Passion: A Good Friday Experience, features a dramatic reading from the Gospel of John, moving musical interludes and compelling projected visuals in the beautifully appointed Ravenscroft Hall. This program is presented by MSW Ministries, a private operating foundation committed to “Serving God’s Word and inviting people to Christ through music, media, outreach, technology and teaching.” This event is FREE to the public. Advance general admission tickets are recommended due to limited seating.
Artists participating on stage in Passion: A Good Friday Experience will include: Vicki McDermitt (vocals), Chris Mack (vocals and spoken word), Evan Nickols (spoken word), Richard Parrish (spoken word), Mary Petrich (soprano saxophone), Russell Schmidt (keyboards), Ben Hedquist (bass), and Rob Moore (drums).

VJC Spotlight Concert featuring Tito Carrillo
Benefit Show for Abounding Service
Saturday, May 6 at 2PM
The Valley Jazz Cooperative Sapphire and Indigo Big Bands will share the stage for the final time this season, joined by guest trumpeter Tito Carrillo, whose music blurs the lines between Afro-Caribbean music traditions and modern jazz. The program will include music by Duke Ellington, Bill Holman, Jueun Seok, and Mary Lou Williams. This year’s VJC Spotlight Concert is also a fundraising event, with 100% of all ticket sales donated to Abounding Service, which is dedicated to teaching English to refugees, improving the lives and changing the trajectories of entire families.

Chamber @ Ravenscroft: Gala
Saturday, May 13 at 7PM
The 2022/23 Chamber @ Ravenscroft series concludes with Gala, a celebration of the inaugural season. The wide-ranging program will feature major chamber works by Samuel Coleridge-Taylor and Robert Schumann, as well as a new work by American composer Susie Ibarra. Gala will also feature the premiere of a set of variations based on the Bob Ravenscroft jazz composition Joy.
