Power Play Debut Features 10 Superhero Phoenix Children's Patients in Custom Suits
By Christina Caldwell - Monday Nov 16, 2020
Ten Phoenix Children’s Hospital patients proved that they are more powerful than they know during the Power Play Premiere, a virtual video debut event featuring custom superhero suits designed by 10 student fashion designers from ASU's School of Art in the Herberger Institute for Design and the Arts, which premiered on Friday, November 13.

The video premiere event featured the debut of each patient’s superhero persona as captured in a costume designed by their partnering ASU student. Superhero alter egos included Keaton as Super-Keaks, Gracie as Spectra, Austin as Blue Lightning, Jovani as Spy Man, Enzo as Yeet Man, Anthony as Red Power Ranger, Eva as Music Girl, Sadie as Rainbow Girl, Jesus as Super Jesus and Anjela as Adayah.

“Power Play this year is a one-of-kind premiere,” said Steve Schnall, Phoenix Children’s Hospital Foundation’s Senior Vice President and Chief Development Officer. “To see these patients’ strength after going through the most challenging time in their lives is truly something to behold. We thank ASU, the student fashion designers and our sponsors for making these patients feel stronger than ever, like the superheroes they are."

Power Play was made possible thanks to sponsors Discount Tire and 1Wish. It’s not too late to watch the Power Play Premiere full video at http://www.PowerPlayPCH.org and support the Hope Fund, which funds the areas of greatest need at Phoenix Children’s.
