Phoenix Startup YellowBird Awarded $25,000 EmergeAZ Fast Grant
By Laura Slawny - Wednesday Jan 27, 2021
YellowBird, an on-demand two-sided marketplace that matches vetted Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) professionals with businesses nationwide, is proud to announce it has been recognized by invisionAZ and StartupAZ with a $25,000 grant.

The EmergeAZ Fast Grant was established in partnership with the Arizona Governor’s Office to provide financial support to entrepreneurs and startups that use emerging technology to address the impacts of the pandemic. YellowBird was among five Arizona companies selected in the first round, which attracted over 150 applications.

"YellowBird stood out during the vetting process as a local startup that is using innovative methods to solve a real need in the community," said Jack Selby, Chairman of invisionAZ. "We are fortunate to have companies such as YellowBird help grow Arizona's innovation and tech ecosystem."

"I am always amazed by the new concepts and creations of Arizona's entrepreneurs," said Brandon Clarke, co-founder and CEO of the StartupAZ. "YellowBird is a prime example of a company motivated to create a better community by enhancing environmental, health and safety protocols in the workplace. We are proud to support YellowBird with the EmergeAZ Fast Grant."

YellowBird provides companies in construction, manufacturing, and oil/gas industries with a deep roster of certified, vetted, and insured professionals who are ready to work on any size project. Services include OSHA Incident Investigations and Mock Audits, Industrial Hygiene, custom projects, and training of any kind.

“The team at YellowBird is honored to be among the first selected in Arizona to receive this grant because it reaffirms our vision and confidence in YellowBird’s long-term success,” Michael Zalle, CEO and Founder at YellowBird. “Today our data-driven tech platform is giving industry specific EHS knowledge workers control of when and where they work, while saving companies time and money. We’re so grateful to be an Arizona startup, knowing that our community and our state believes in us and is contributing towards our future growth.”

Additional EmergeAZ Fast Grants were awarded to Arizona startups: CYR3CON, Upfront, Dovly, and televëda.

StartupAZ and invisionAZ created the EmergeAZ Fast Grant to provide financial support to Arizona startups that are using technology in a new way to tackle economic, health, or societal challenges. Companies must be at least one year old, in a revenue stage, and have at least five employees. They will continue to accept applications and award grants until on a rolling basis until funds are exhausted.
