Phoenix Rescue Mission, QuikTrip Partner to Secure and Strengthen Phoenix Communities
By Claire Natale - Monday Jul 24, 2023
Phoenix Rescue Mission, the nonprofit providing life-transforming solutions to people experiencing hunger, homelessness, addiction and trauma, is excited to announce it has partnered with QuikTrip to provide homeless outreach and navigation services at select QT locations that experience high traffic from unhoused individuals.

“This is a significant and unique partnership for Phoenix Rescue Mission, expanding our reach in the Valley to help our most vulnerable populations,” said CEO Ken Brissa. “We know that many unhoused people frequent convenience stores and being able to meet them where they are with resources and services will save many lives.”

“Ensuring the safety, stability, and long-term success of the families in the communities we serve is central to our mission, which is why QuikTrip is proud to support Phoenix Rescue Mission,” said Aisha Jefferson-Smith, Corporate Communications Manager for QuikTrip. “QuikTrip is committed to investing in Phoenix and helping those struggling to get on pathways to success that will move the entire Phoenix Metropolitan Area forward. Through our partnership with Phoenix Rescue Mission, we aim to help promote comprehensive solutions that help our customers, employees, and communities be safer and stronger.”

For the partnership, PRM operates a mobile outreach program that sends teams to targeted areas of homelessness, provides basic services, engages clients for placement at shelters, and assists with community strategic initiatives to help end homelessness. The team uses a variety of tools to motivate people living on the streets to permanently exit their situation by removing barriers to housing through ID vouchers, birth certificates, short-term motel stays, move-in costs, legal fines, residential recovery services, and fees assistance, among other items.

The program is staffed with peer support certified street outreach case managers who help set case plans with clients, provide connections to resources, and consistently follow up to keep these people on track to reach their goals.
