Phoenix Children’s Hospital 5K Raises Nearly $162,000 for Patient Care
By Christina Caldwell - Thursday Nov 05, 2020
Supporters from across Arizona came together to WALK. RUN. RIDE. FUNDRAISE. for Phoenix Children’s Hospital patients from Friday, Oct. 30 through Sunday, Nov. 1 for the 5th Annual Phoenix Children’s Hospital 5K, presented in a virtual format amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. The family-friendly event raised nearly $162,000 for Phoenix Children’s Hospital’s Hope Fund, the Hospital’s greatest area of need, which supports more than 60 of the programs and services funded solely or significantly through philanthropy.

The virtual format provided participants the opportunity to walk, run or ride from any location at their own pace, all while social distancing. The funds raised benefit Phoenix Children’s Hospital at a critical time for healthcare. The Hope Fund has an ongoing need to provide funds for research, patient care, state-of-the-art technology and equipment, which does not stop during a pandemic.

“While the format might have been different to accommodate for the current global crisis, the PCH 5K continues to prove itself to be a remarkable event to bring together families, friends and strangers to help the children and families at our hospital,” said Steve Schnall, senior vice president and chief development officer at Phoenix Children’s Hospital Foundation.

The PCH 5K would not be possible without the generous support from its sponsors, including RSM US LLP, The Joint Chiropractic and AutoNation.

Donations will continue to be gratefully accepted at PCH5K.org. To learn more, visit phoenixchildrensfoundation.org.
