Phoenix Children's Celebrates with Beach Themed Event
By Claire Natale - Sunday May 23, 2021
Phoenix Children’s Hospital collaborated with its long-standing corporate and individual supporters to provide a creative alternative to its annual Spring fundraiser Beach Ball, due to ongoing COVID-19 restrictions. Supporters generously continued their valuable support of the Phoenix Children’s mission in lieu of the ballroom event that brought the experience into the hospital with a special Trip to the Beach theme. “Beach Week” invited physicians, staff, patients and their families to escape to the beach with a series of activities and decor featured from May 10 through the 14.

In conjunction with National Hospital Week, employees were celebrated at employee entrances, served a complimentary meal and invited to participate in beach-themed activities. The cafeteria patio was transformed with daily musical performances and colorful beach umbrellas and chairs. Patients and families equally escaped to the beach with special TV programming, crafts and goodie bags that included beach décor for their room.

A memorable highlight of the week included healthcare heroes sharing their spirit with a fun-filled dance-off competition.

Phoenix Children’s is happy to honor supporters of Beach Week and the local companies of Berkshire Hathaway Energy – BHE U.S. Transmission, Long Realty and BHE Renewables in lifting spirits while bringing the beach experience to our staff, patients and their families.
