About Lost Our Home Pet Rescue
Lost Our Home was founded in 2008 in response to the thousands of pets in need because of the economic downturn in general, and the Phoenix-area foreclosure crisis. They rescue pets abandoned or at risk of homelessness due to pet parents’ life crises: eviction, domestic violence, job loss and illness. They have saved the lives of over 4,000 pets, reunited more than 900 pets with families through their Temporary Care Program, and fed 17,000 pets through their Pet-Food Bank Program. They also have a partnership with the Sojourner Center, the largest domestic violence shelter in Arizona, in which they operate a pet shelter on their campus so that women escaping domestic violence can have their pet with them.
