Since 2019, the local car community has come together to help Arizonans struggling from food insecurity. One Auto Community Movement and Radordie is partnering with United Food Bank to host the sixth annual oneLess Car Show on Nov. 11 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at United Food Bank’s volunteer center in Mesa.
The goal for this year is to raise $8,000 in donations that will go to support the mission of United Food Bank, a local food bank that serves over 150 nonprofit agencies in the East Valley. Although many attendees are looking to beat last year’s total of 17,294.
Attendees will have the opportunity to stop by and check out the car show, bring items to donate or they can cash donate on the spot. Food donations that will be accepted include canned items, rice, pasta and whole-grain cereal. There is a prize for the individual or team that brings the most food or monetary donation.
The highlight of the event is the car show that features a unique variety of cars and will be judged for a chance to win a 1st, 2nd or 3rd place prize. Those interested in having their car judged during the car show competition will need to pre-register at unitedfoodbank.org/.
In addition, attendees will also be able to help pack emergency food bags that are shared with United Food Bank’s 150 partner agencies and programs.
