Mesquite Fresh Street Mex to Partner with SARRC during Autism Acceptance Month
By Claire Natale - Tuesday Feb 27, 2024
PHOENIX – Mesquite Fresh Street Mex, a modern Mexican grab-and-go brand, is proud to announce its latest charitable activation in partnership with the Southwest Autism Research & Resource Center during April, which is Autism Acceptance Month. Throughout the month, restaurant patrons who mention the organization by name at checkout in-person, or who enter ‘SARRC’ into the promo code field at online checkout, can elect to donate a percentage of proceeds from their order to the nonprofit. The campaign will be effective across all nine Valley Mesquite locations and will apply to the restaurant’s full menu. Funds collected to benefit SARRC will be tracked throughout April with the final donation amount being announced at the beginning of May.

“SARRC’s inclusive culture is truly inspiring, and we recognize the incredible impact their services, resources for their clients, and educational outreach have on the autism community, both here in Arizona and across the world,” said Ahmad Alatrash, co-founder of Mesquite Fresh Street Mex. “We’re excited to offer the Valley an easy way to contribute to SARRC’s important work, which helps people with autism cultivate empowering life skills to live independently.”

SARRC is an internationally recognized nonprofit that offers more than 20 programs and services designed for children, teens, adults with autism, and their families. The organization also boasts an innovative autism research program that brings together scientists and stakeholders to gain a better understanding of possible causes of autism, identify better treatments, and educate others about how to improve the quality of life for those impacted by autism and their families.

“We’re extremely grateful Mesquite Fresh Street Mex selected SARRC in light of their Autism Awareness and Acceptance Month fundraising campaign,” said SARRC President and CEO Daniel Openden, PhD, BCBA-D. “Opportunities to team up with community partners who are committed to raising awareness and acceptance of autism is critically important to SARRC’s mission of advancing research and providing a lifetime of support for individuals with autism and their families.”

Founded by brothers Nas and Ahmad Alatrash, the Mesquite brand specializes in bringing Mexican street food to neighborhoods across the Valley. The signature custom-built mesquite grill featured at all Mesquite locations uses real mesquite wood chips giving the fresh meats a unique and smoky flavor. The brand focuses on incorporating the highest quality ingredients, prepared fresh daily, into every dish. The menu features authentic street tacos, killer burritos, packed protein bowls, big quesadillas, frescas and family meal kits.
