Locally Owned Fired Pie to Participate in Special Olympics Arizona’s Placard Campaign
By Claire Natale - Thursday Sep 30, 2021
(PHOENIX) –Locally-owned and operated fast-casual pizza concept, Fired Pie announced that the company will be participating in Special Olympics Arizona’s placard campaign to give back to Arizona’s largest sports organization for people with intellectual disabilities. Fired Pie guests are encouraged to make a $5 donation to the nonprofit and in return, they will have a placard with their name hung up in Fired Pie’s stores that will be proudly displayed starting Monday, October 4 through Friday, December 31.

“We are extremely pleased to announce our partnership with Special Olympics Arizona,” said Fired Pie Co-Owner, Doug Doyle. “At Fired Pie, giving back to the community is a top priority for us and we are thrilled to have that opportunity to help promote a great local organization.”

During the pandemic, Fired Pie has remained committed to its mission to give back and serve the community. They have also hosted numerous fundraisers with nonprofits like Phoenix Children’s Hospital, No Kid Hungry and the company allows their customers to raise money for local charities. Local 501(c) charities can choose any Fired Pie location and the store will donate 20% of the funds they bring in.

“This campaign with Fired Pie is so important to Special Olympics Arizona as we get back to in-person activities and events, something that is so vital to our athletes, both physically and mentally,” said Special Olympics Arizona President and CEO Jamie Heckerman. “With fundraising taking a hit during the pandemic, partnerships like these are crucial to help us get back on our feet.”

Throughout the year, Fired Pie has also donated large catering packages to hospitals as a thank you to healthcare heroes. They even implemented 50% off days for healthcare workers and first responders. Additionally, Fired Pie hosted a free entrée day as a thank you to police and fireman, where they served over 750 meals in one day.

Fired Pie has 20 stores in Metro Phoenix and one in Tucson, Arizona. For more information, menus, hours and locations, visit firedpie.com or you can like their Facebook page at facebook.com/FiredPie.
