Sheila Zuieback, local philanthropist and passionate advocate for children’s health, has been named the 2020 recipient of the Dr. Herbert J. and Julie Louis Spirit of Hope Award at Phoenix Children’s Hospital. Zuieback will receive the award at one of the Valley’s most celebrated, longstanding traditions, the 27th annual Beach Ball presented by Berkshire Hathaway Energy – BHE U.S. Transmission, Long Realty and BHE Renewables.

Beach Ball is Phoenix Children's largest annual fundraising event and will take place this year on February 22 at the Arizona Biltmore Resort. Each year, 1,000+ guests support world-class care while enjoying a new oceanside theme. This year, guests are invited to Dive into the French Riviera, and are encouraged to trade tuxedos and gowns for stylish beachwear.

The Spirit of Hope Award pays tribute to the legacies of Dr. Herbert J. and Julie Louis, pioneering and longtime supporters of Phoenix Children’s. Sheila Zuieback was chosen in celebration of her longstanding support of world-class care, close to home for Arizona’s children.

For more than 15 years, Zuieback has lent her time and talent to raise funds and marshal energy around programs at Phoenix Children’s for which she is passionate, including neurosciences, pastoral care and trauma-informed care. She is a co-founder and leader of the Teen Board, inspiring the next generation of philanthropists, a former Leadership Circle Director and longtime member and officer of the Phoenix Children’s Hospital Foundation Board of Directors.
