TruWest Credit Union, donated $55,000 to Phoenix Children’s Hospital in Phoenix, Arizona, through a fundraising 50/50 raffle and “Casual for a Cause†staff donation initiatives.
“We are honored to be able to demonstrate the credit union philosophy of ‘people helping people,’†said President and CEO of TruWest Credit Union, Alan Althouse. “This year has been challenging for all of us, but it’s how we come together and support each other that truly matters.â€
“We are deeply grateful to TruWest Credit Union for raising these critical funds during a difficult year,†said Tim Harrison, Vice President of Corporate Partnerships & Special Events at Phoenix Children’s Hospital. “TruWest has been a loyal partner for many years, demonstrating a deep commitment to our community and our children.â€
TruWest has been a contributor to Children’s Miracle Network hospitals for almost 30 years. Traditionally, it involves a large, end-of-year, in-person holiday auction. Because of COVID restrictions, the credit union got creative with a new fundraising event that could be held virtually. Thus, was born the overwhelmingly successful 50/50 raffle, which included over 195 participants who made donations throughout the months of November and December.
TruWest’s annual Casual for a Cause donation initiative provides an opportunity for TruWest employees to donate a small portion of each paycheck in exchange for being able to have casual “dress-down†days throughout the year.
