Local Chef's Pop-Up Kitchen to Benefit Autism Awareness Month

Following the success last fall, Pita Jungle is teaming up once again with the talented local chef and owner of the beloved Mexican pop-up restaurant Requinto, Erick Pineda. You may recall Erick from his weekend brunch at Linger Longer Lounge in Uptown Phoenix. The limited-time menu featuring authentic Guerrero food will be available on Friday, April 5 at the Downtown Pita Jungle location from 6 PM – 9 PM.
In addition, in honor of National Autism Awareness Month, a portion of the proceeds from the event will go towards supporting SARRC (Southwest Autism Research and Resource Center) whose mission is to advance research and provide a lifetime of support for individuals with autism and their families.
Menu Details:
Dolma Tamales (Dolmales) - 3 grape leaves stuffed with masa, roasted corn, bell peppers and Oaxaca cheese. Side of salsa arbol, lime.
Chorizo Flavored Hummus - Pita Jungle hummus, adobo, roasted garlic evoo, roasted carrots, cotija cheese, parsley. Side Pita.
Chorizo Huarache - House beef chorizo, cactus, red onion, crema, cotija cheese, radish, micro cilantro and beans on a corn masa huarache. Side salsa arbol, side chile.
Pita Jungle Mole - Med/Mex fusion mole, wood-fired caramelized cauliflower, potato, yellow squash, pickled red onions, toasted pine nuts. Side tortillas.
Chile Relleno Tacos - 3 grilled chile anchos stuffed with beans and Oaxaca cheese. Topped with avocado sauce, pickled onions, and micro cilantro. Side salsa arbol, lime.
Guerrero Style Elopozole Soup - Chicken and corn pozole with zucchini, green beans and epazote in a savory guajillo broth. Side lime, jalapenos, toasted chile arbol.
