Koibito Poké and Arizona Cancer Foundation for Children Partner for Pediatric Cancer Awareness Month
By Erica Shipione - Wednesday Aug 31, 2022
Local franchise Koibito Poké, a leading healthy fast-casual concept, announced today they are teaming up with the Arizona Cancer Foundation for Children this September to raise money for children and families affected by pediatric cancer.

Throughout the month of September, which is recognized as Pediatric Cancer Awareness Month, all four Valley Koibito Poké locations will donate $2 from every Signature Bowl sold to the Arizona Cancer Foundation for Children. The local non-profit’s mission is to provide social, emotional and financial support for families managing the health and well-being of a loved one with pediatric cancer. Money raised through the promotion will provide immediate assistance to cover expenses associated with a child's cancer diagnosis, provide K9 therapy and counseling, birthday gifts, art classes, and overall emotional and financial support.

“Having a younger brother pass of leukemia at age 11 makes this a very important cause to me,” says Todd Stottlemyre, Co-Founder and CEO of Koibito Poké, former MLB pitcher and three-time World Series Champion and two-time bestselling author. “My hope is that everyone will lock arms with us on fighting cancer and giving all kids a brighter future.”

Arizona Cancer Foundation for Children was founded in 2013 by Chrisie Funari, who lost her young daughter, Ava, to cancer. In 2014, Funari’s personal experience inspired her to launch Arizona Cancer Foundation for Children which offers everything from navigating hospitals, providing financial assistance and other support needed by families.

“Koibito Poké is an important partner of Arizona Cancer Foundation for Children,” says Chrisie Funari, president and founder of Arizona Cancer Foundation for Children. “We are so grateful to have a local business like Koibito Poké understand and support our mission during Pediatric Cancer Awareness Month. Koibito Poké and the support from our community is an integral part of Arizona Cancer Foundation for Children and allows us to offer our programs free of charge to 275 families annually.”

For the entirety of September, guests can choose from any of Koibito Poké’s five Signature Bowls at all four locations in Arcadia, Chandler and Scottsdale. Restaurant hours are 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. For more information on Koibito Poké, visit http://www.koibitopoke.com or follow them on social media @koibito.poke.
