“As a breast cancer survivor myself, I recognize that treatments can be challenging, and having access to high-quality care is essential,” said Dr. Hendershott. “Having a breast surgical oncology location in Oro Valley allows our team to bring comprehensive care and support to our patients right here in their community, close to home.”

Arizona Oncology is proud to provide care from breast surgical oncologists like Dr. Hendershott who are recognized leaders in their field. The team’s in-depth knowledge of breast cancer biology, genetics, and the most advanced surgical options helps patients achieve the best possible outcomes. Dr. Hendershott specializes in the surgical management of genetic, familial, and triple-negative breast cancers and has a special interest in invasive lobular cancers. She has additional training in the performance of oncoplastic techniques to maximize cosmetic outcomes in breast conservation surgery. In addition to nipple-sparing mastectomies, she offers “aesthetically flat” mastectomy scars using complex closures. Dr. Hendershott also performs Goldilocks procedures on women desiring breast mounds without formal reconstruction.

“We focus on the individual’s needs and goals because no two breast cancer patients are alike,” said Dr. Hendershott. “Our team is with the patient every step of the way, developing a personalized plan with leading-edge technology and a holistic healing strategy.”
