Jerry Colangelo 50 Years of Golden Achievements Tribute Luncheon Set for Oct. 13
By Claire Natale - Wednesday Oct 06, 2021
The Jerry Colangelo 50 Years of Golden Achievements Tribute Luncheon, presented by Chicanos Por La Causa (CPLC), will pay tribute to Colangelo’s world-changing achievements and establish the Jerry Colangelo Integrity Scholarship Endowment, October 13, 2021 from12 p.m. to 2 p.m. at the Chateau Lux (1175 E. Lone Cactus Dr.) following the Integrity Summit 10.

The endowment will provide scholarships to students attending accredited Arizona college, trade, technology and art schools. Competing students will apply and be considered for a scholarship after composing a 500-word essay and answering two questions: First, how will you help to be a force to make integrity prominent and dominant wherever you work? Second, how will you be an Integrity Tiger-- and walk the talk of integrity-- even when others do not?

“We’re thrilled to create a scholarship that encourages young adults to place integrity at the forefront in all decisions,” said Gregg Ostro, founder of Integrity Summit and GO Media Companies. “Jerry has always been an exemplar of integrity and lifting humanity, so it only makes sense that this scholarship follows in his footsteps.”

For more than 52 years, Arizona-based CPLC has dedicated to driving economic and political empowerment. The community development corporation impacts more than two million lives annually by providing accessible healthcare, affordable housing, a quality education, access to meaningful work and political representation in Arizona, California, Nevada, New Mexico and Texas. CPLC is supporting the luncheon at this year’s Integrity Summit.

“We have all benefitted tremendously from and been inspired by what Jerry Colangelo has accomplished for Arizona and the country. Chicano Por La Causa is honored to celebrate Jerry and help carry the torch of integrity,” said David Adame, president & CEO of Chicano Por La Causa.

Celebrities, VIPs of sports, business and education leaders will be attending and be featured on video sharing their historic moments with Colangelo. The Luncheon Chairs include Ray Schey, publisher of the Phoenix Business Journal; Sandra Watson, CEO of the Arizona Commerce Authority; Jerry Moyes, founder and CEO of Swift Trucking (retired); and Gregg Ostro, founder of Integrity Summit and GO Media Companies. The Host Committee includes David Eaton, principal of JDM Partners; Mel Shultz, principal of JDM Partners; Chuck Warshaver, president of Gellert Health; Dr. Deepika Bahla, CEO of the Chateau Luxe Event Center; Ben Ostro, vice president of GO Media Companies, LLC; Martin Shultz, community leader and former executive of Arizona Public Service (APS)/Pinnacle West (retired); Joshua Crosman, Unit Sales Manager (General Manager) at PepsiCo; David Adame, president & CEO of Chicanos Por La Causa.
