By Christina Caldwell - Wednesday Jun 08, 2022
Get a free salad and help local kids learn to eat healthier on Thursday, June 16 as MIXT hosts #FreeSaladDay to benefit local nonprofit Blue Watermelon Project.

MIXT, a proud certified B-Corp crafting delicious salads, bowls and sandwiches, will give away FREE salads at its Scottsdale location all day on Thursday, June 16 from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Guests can choose from any of MIXT’s chef-crafted salads, bowls or sandwiches, or create their own from a mix of organic specialty ingredients and proteins. Offer limited to entrees (salads, bowls, or sandwiches) valued at $15 or less. If the entree price exceeds $15, the difference will be due. Drinks, alcoholic beverages and treats are not included. Offer valid on in-person orders only. Not valid on orders placed through the MIXT app, online or through third party vendors such as DoorDash or UberEats.

In exchange, MIXT encourages guests to donate to Blue Watermelon Project to keep the joy of healthy eating going. MIXT chose Blue Watermelon Project to benefit from this day of giving because it believes in creating healthy, delicious food as a force for good.

Blue Watermelon Project, led by James Beard Award-winner and Chef of FnB Restaurant, Charleen Badman, is a grassroots group of chefs, restaurateurs, farmers and community food advocates that seek to rethink our relationship with food, starting with school lunches. Blue Watermelon Project works with kids K-12 to integrate taste education and hands-on cooking and growing into their curriculum, teaching them to eat healthier and understand the source of their food.
