Fry's Food Stores Announces Gilbert Marketplace Grand Opening Festivities on Sept. 2
By Lisa Padilla - Friday Aug 28, 2020
Fry’s Food Stores is excited to invite Arizonans living and working in Gilbert to the grand opening of their new Marketplace store on Wednesday, September 2. The new store located at 1455 N. Higley Rd. will welcome customers at 7 a.m., following a brief ribbon-cutting ceremony.

“We are thrilled to open the new Marketplace store in Gilbert and accommodate the growing needs of the community,” said Ken Fett, store manager of the Fry’s Marketplace Gilbert. “Shoppers will enjoy our beautiful store which includes a variety of state-of-the-art amenities to help make the shopping experience easier and more convenient. We hope everyone will celebrate with us.”

Grand opening festivities will include a $10 Fry’s gift card for the first 250 guests in line and remarks by Gilbert Town Mayor Scott Anderson. They will also present a $5,000 check to Open Arms Care Center, a non-profit dedicated to fighting food insecurity, as part of their effort to end hunger in local communities through Zero Hunger | Zero Waste social impact plan.

“We are so thankful to Fry's for selecting Open Arms to receive this grant,” said Tiffney Dale, founder and co-director of Open Arms. “It is only through the generosity of our local partners like Fry's that we are able to continually serve families in need in the Gilbert area. In these uncertain times we are grateful that we can rely on the support of our community.”

The new 129,000-square-foot store will employ 325-350 associates and will feature a variety of upscale amenities including a sushi station, an extensive wine department, Murray’s Cheese shop, Chompie’s grab-and-go sandwiches and soups, a pharmacy offering same-day delivery service and drive-thru pharmacy, and a fuel center.

Local artist Selina Rodriguez was commissioned to create indoor artwork for the new store. The artwork, reflecting the energy and vision of Gilbert, measures 11’ x 5’ and hangs above the seating area near Starbucks. Rodriguez’s work has been displayed in galleries and public buildings across the United Stated and Arizona.

The new Fry’s Marketplace will be open daily from 6:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.
