Foster Care, Adoption Agency Raises more than $26,000 in Inaugural Virtual Auction
By Claire Natale - Friday May 14, 2021
The Arizona’s Children Association (AzCA) is excited to announce it raised $26,920 during its inaugural virtual auction, Browse. Bid. Buy, held on April 10 and 11. During the live event, guests learned about AzCA’s services and placed their bids on exciting items including experiences, luxury jewelry and more. Donations were tax deductible as a charitable contribution to the extent allowed by law.

“Because of the pandemic, we have had to find creative ways of fundraising to support vulnerable youth in our state,” said Barbara Krusko, chief development officer at AzCA. “We’re so happy that the community enjoyed this fundraiser, albeit virtual, and helped contribute directly to vital programs and services geared toward underserved minors.”

The auction’s most popular items included family outings to Medieval Times, getaways to the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess and Talking Stick Resort, artwork by children in AzCA’s programs, gift cards, bedding and more. There were a total of 137 registered bidders for the 78 items, with a total of 353 bids.

The event’s presenting sponsor was UPS Foundation. Auctioneer sponsors included AGM Container Controls, Avondale Toyota, Camelback Ford, London Bridge Resort, The Plant Stand of Arizona, Porsche North Scottsdale, Think Tank Media and Tocco Financial Services. Starting bid sponsors included Dosis VR Games and Nohemi’s Eyebrow Academy.

Auction item donors included Arizona State Parks, Kendra Scott of Scottsdale, State Forty-Eight Window World of Phoenix, Brooklyn Bedding and many more.
