Equine Therapy Farm Hosts 16th Annual Celebrate the Art of Recovery Event
By Claire Natale - Wednesday Sep 08, 2021
Hunkapi Programs, an equine therapy farm located in the heart of Scottsdale, is excited to announce it will host the 16th annual Celebrate the Art of Recovery Event (CARE) presented by Community Bridges on Saturday, September 18 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The invite-only event is known for its inspiring stories and lifesaving resources for community members struggling with substance abuse and mental health issues.

This year, local anchor Brandon Lee will moderate two one-on-one discussions leading up to the event based around a variety of related topics including “Chemicals of Concern” with Community Bridges Public Information Officer Stephanie Siete, which took place on September 7 and “Kids at Risk: Snapchat - The Newest Drug Dealing Trend” with Arizona National Guard, Drug Demand Reduction and Outreach Sergeant Ashley Thompson on September 14. The discussion will be broadcasted live on Facebook.com/CommunityBridgesAZ at 6 p.m.

About Hunkapi Programs
Hunkapi, based in Scottsdale, brings to the valley a variety of horse powered activities for children and adults including: therapeutic riding lessons, equine assisted psychotherapy and garden therapy. Most of the lessons come from the horses, who gently guide clients toward greater mindfulness of self and others. The name is taken from a Native American word that means “I am related to everyone” and expresses the deep sense of connection between horse and human. For more information on the program, please visit the website at http://www.hunkapi.org. You can also reach the farm at (480) 393-0870 or [email protected].
