Nonprofit organization, Waste Not, is working to raise awareness to hunger in the Arizona community through its annual Empty Bowls event that features over 2,000 hand-crafted bowls. The fundraiser officially took place on Oct. 13, but Waste Not has another opportunity for Arizonans to come pick out a one-of-a-kind bowl.
On Nov. 4 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Waste Not will have a table featured at the 38th Arts & Craft fair at Granite Reef Senior Center, hosted by the City of Scottsdale. Each bowl on display is professionally made by Arizona-based artists through the Arizona Clay Association and will be available for purchase for $10 each.
Since 1987, Waste Not has been working to eliminate hunger and food waste in the state of Arizona. It works with over 85 nonprofit agencies to help provide excess food to Arizonans in need. In 2022 alone, Waste Not recovered 2.4 million meals from ending up in Earth’s landfills. For more information, visit https://www.wastenotaz.org/.
