Dr. Rafiyath to Practice Permanently at Arizona Oncology's Rincon Location

Arizona Oncology has announced Shamudheen M. Rafiyath, MD, will now be practicing at a permanent suite at the practice’s Rincon location, located in the Tucson Medical Center Rincon building. Dr. Rafiyath previously practiced at this location in a temporary suite and is proud to continue to provide expert cancer care to patients in the East Tucson area.

Dr. Rafiyath earned his medical degree from Trivandrum Medical College in India before completing his internship in internal medicine at Long Island Jewish Forest Hills Hospital in Queens, NY and internal medicine residency at the Overlook Medical Center in Summit, NJ. Dr. Rafiyath went on to complete his fellowship in hematology and oncology at New York Medical College at Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, NY. He is board certified in internal medicine, medical oncology and hematology.

“Having access to high-quality cancer care in the patient’s community is essential,” said Dr. Rafiyath. “I’m thrilled to be able to continue to provide for patients in the area.”

Dr. Rafiyath specializes in treating breast, lung, skin, head and neck, gastrointestinal, and genitourinary cancer, as well as blood malignancies. He is active in the professional healthcare community as a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the American Society of Hematology. Dr. Rafiyath is fluent in English and Malayalam and is familiar with Hindi and Tamil.
