A portion of Desert Ridge Marketplace’s parking lot will transform into “Drive-In to Delish” offering touch-free delivery from participating restaurant tenants starting today, Tuesday, May 5. The delivery area will be located on the north side of The District near Tikka Shack and Yard House.

Participating restaurants include Tikka Shack, Nori Sushi Bar and Asian Kitchen, Slices and Islands. The technology, powered by OneDine, successfully debuted at sister-center Tempe Marketplace earlier this month amid the COVID-19 pandemic, offering the community an alternative and safe dining destination. Now, Desert Ridge Marketplace will bring the same inventive program to North Phoenix residents.

Guests simply need to pull into a designated drive-in parking spot, order and pay via their phone, and have a delicious meal delivered directly to the safety of their car. Then, diners can either enjoy it in the comfort of their own vehicle or take their eats to-go. All with no touching, no calling ahead and no hassle.

Once parked, guests use their phone to scan a QR code on the signs at the parking space. The QR code returns a list of available restaurants to order from, so that diners can easily make their selections, pay securely, and submit their orders. The order is instantly sent to the kitchen and a restaurant crew member swiftly and safely delivers the packaged-up dishes to their car.

“We want to provide the public with responsible and delicious takeout options while supporting our restaurants,” said Emilie Andrews, regional marketing director at Vestar, Desert Ridge Marketplace’s locally owned parent company. “Our drive-in program is a win-win for hungry guests and for our eateries that are diligently and safely working to keep the North Phoenix economy going.”

As an extra treat, guests will receive a $5 gift card to their drive-in restaurant of choice when they place an order of $20 or more at the same restaurant from now through May 8 at both Desert Ridge Market place and Tempe Marketplace.
