The COVID-19 pandemic and resulting stay-at-home order has had a great impact on Arizona’s homeless population. Governor Ducey and his administration have worked tirelessly to provide funds for food banks, homeless shelters and other organizations providing programs and services to the homeless and other at-risk populations. Delta Dental of Arizona joined in these efforts by providing 30,000 toothbrushes and 30,000 tubes of toothpaste to homeless shelters and organizations serving vulnerable populations.

“Delta Dental of Arizona has a long history of supporting Arizona communities through its foundation, particularly the underserved. During this pandemic, hygiene is of paramount importance. We feel it’s our responsibility to provide the tools to ensure those in need are able to look after their oral health, especially at this time,” said Allan Allford, CEO of Delta Dental of Arizona and Chair of the Delta Dental of Arizona Foundation. “It’s extremely gratifying to work with the Arizona Dept. of Administration; together we were able to get these much-needed supplies to those who need them.”

The Arizona Department of Administration is distributing the dental supplies, along with donations from a wide variety of other organizations, to 90 organizations across the state.
