CHASSE Building Team Provides 1,000 Turkeys, Holiday Meal Kits for Families across Valley
By Alison Bailin - Monday Dec 13, 2021
To kick off the holiday season, more than 30 members of locally owned and operated CHASSE Building Team came together in recent weeks to put together meal boxes with holiday necessities to hand out along with 1,000 turkeys that they collected and purchased to families across greater-Phoenix. CHASSE provided the kits and turkeys via four pick-up locations in Tolleson, Glendale, Tempe and Phoenix and worked in partnership with school districts in the southeast, west and north valleys to ensure all items would get directly into the hands of those in need.

“We work extensively in K-12 construction, both in new builds and renovations, ensuring to make true connections with the schools as well as its students throughout the process,” says Taylor Perkins of CHASSE. “When the opportunity presented itself to create a tangible program to help students and families, we jumped at the chance. In fact, we plan for this to be an annual program – ‘CHASSE-giving’ – based on the need we found and the success.”

This is just one of CHASSE’s community giving projects. In the past five years alone, the award-winning general contractor has supported more than 100 organizations across Arizona by fundraising, donating and providing sponsorships in excess of $3.5 million.

In addition to this project, the CHASSE team also got a gift of its own ahead of the holiday when on Dec. 2, founder Barry Chasse announced that the firm has become a 100% employee-owned firm by launching an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP). The move to TSOP does not change the management structure of the privately owned firm. Chasse, a life member of the Arizona Builder’s Alliance as well as a Most Admired Leaders honoree and proud Sun Devil 100 recipient, is enthusiastic about continuing to lead the now teammate-owned enterprise. The plan is designed as a long-term retirement benefit for all employees as owners. Under the plan, all eligible employees will earn a yearly allocation of stock and their value will increase as the value of the firm increases along with all other benefits already in place at the multi-year Most Admired Company winner, Phoenix Best Places to Work honoree and 2020 Tempe Business of the Year.
