Breakthru Arizona Donates Over 1,500 Meals to Support Community Heroes
By Alison Bailin - Monday Apr 20, 2020
Breakthru Beverage Group which has 515 employees and more than 8,200 accounts in Arizona ranging from small mom and pop restaurants to large resorts and entertainment venues, is providing meals to Arizona’s front-line responders battling the COVID-19 outbreak.

Beginning this week, Breakthru Beverage Arizona will deliver more than 1,500 meals to local healthcare professionals and law enforcement officials as they work to prevent further spread of COVID-19. Across its footprint, Breakthru is partnering with local nonprofit organizations, restaurants, and restaurant groups to purchase these meals for front-line responders battling the COVID-19 outbreak and vulnerable populations affected by it. Among the restaurants Breakthru Beverage Arizona is supporting through this effort are Blanco Tacos, Daily Dose, Oregano’s, Pita Jungle, Lin’s Little China, Casa Amigos, Mastro’s Restaurants and more.

“The frontline healthcare professionals and local law enforcement officials are true heroes in helping protect our community in the face of an unprecedented crisis. We wanted to show our appreciation for their bravery and cannot thank them enough,” said Gary Lederer, Breakthru Beverage Arizona Executive Vice President. “We are grateful for their tireless commitment as we navigate these uncertain times and are thrilled to be able to share a meal with them while supporting local restaurants who are also struggling amidst this crisis.”

“We are thrilled and thankful to be playing a role in the program. Nothing means more to us than to take part in this Covid-19 relief effort. This also helps us keep our employees in shifts churning our healthy food,” said Bassel Osmani, Pita Jungle Co-Owner. “These are trying times, but the moment is not for desperation: the call is for all of us to partner up in the defeat of this scourge, standing ‘shoulder to shoulder’ with our Health care workers and 1st responders.”

Breakthru Beverage Arizona will be supplying lunches and dinners to several Banner Health Medical Centers, Valleywise Health Medical Centers, the Kingman Regional Medical Center and the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office. Breakthru is also supporting the Flagstaff Family Food Center to aid hunger relief efforts across northern Arizona.
