Brat Haus, one of Old Town Scottsdale’s most welcoming scratch kitchens, is excited to announce the recent launch of its “Feed the Heroes” program, which to date has provided meals for more than 1,500 workers from HonorHealth Scottsdale Osborn Medical Center over the last two weeks. Dave Andrea, Brat Haus owner, created the program to help relieve stress for the essential employees on the frontlines of the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

“These incredible people are risking their lives daily in order to help others,” said Andrea. “It’s been really gratifying to make even the smallest difference for them. Now is the time to make sure that they are being taken care of too.”

Every day, Andrea and his team deliver 150 plus lunches to the campus, which is one of the main coronavirus medical relief facilities in the area. The Old Town location is the closest restaurant to the hospital’s front doors.

To help fund the program and allow the community to enjoy Brat Haus classics, Andrea has responsibly re-opened the restaurant for limited hours. Tuesday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Saturdays from 12 to 5 p.m., guests can order from a limited menu that includes signature brats, burgers, and pretzels to go.

Restaurant vendors like Denmark Foods, Capistrano Bakery, and Waterloo Sparkling Water have also generously donated products and funds directly for the program’s benefit.

“As long as the community continues to visit our curbside pick-up and take advantage of the great special, we’ll keep feeding the first responders and health care workers that we’re counting on to get us through this pandemic,” said Andrea.
