Battle of the Boxes To Exhibit Ugandan Refugee Settlement To Support Pipeline Worldwide Relief Efforts
By Michelle Talsma Everson - Monday Oct 19, 2020
Pipeline Worldwide, an organization dedicated to serving as a conduit for facilitating connections between donors and vulnerable communities in East Africa, will host a special Battle of the Boxes Real Life Exhibit on Oct. 22-24, 2020, in Scottsdale.

At the event, attendees will have an opportunity to tour a real-life refugee settlement in Northern Uganda. The tour will also showcase the conditions in which healthcare workers are currently living, the medical equipment and facilities currently available, and the challenges of living in a third-world country.

Professionals from top architectural firms, general contractors, engineering companies, developers and education organizations participated in a competition (Battle of the Boxes) to convert 40’ shipping containers into housing for these healthcare workers. These three completed housing containers will also be on display.

A goal of the event is to raise $69,000 to fill these containers with medical equipment and supplies. They will then be shipped to Uganda which will ultimately support two hospitals and 2 clinics and provide housing for healthcare workers.

Tour groups will be limited to 10 people at a time. Tickets are $15 for students and $25 for adults. A virtual silent auction will also be held.

Based on the needs voiced by local leaders, Pipeline Worldwide acts as impact catalysts by providing funding, time and resources for projects that will deliver access to clean water, sanitation, education and healthcare in the most impoverished regions.
