Barron’s Names Wilde Wealth Management Group among 2023 Top 100 Private Wealth Management Teams
By Alison Bailin - Thursday Jun 01, 2023
Wilde Wealth Management Group, an award-winning financial services firm that provides comprehensive retirement, investment, real estate, insurance, legal and tax planning services all under one roof, is pleased to announce that Barron’s has named the firm to its annual list of the Top 100 Private Wealth Management Teams in the nation. This is Wilde’s first year on the list, earning No. 82 in the national ranking, and they are one of only two firms to earn placement among the top 100 in Arizona. The honor comes on the heels of Wilde founder and CEO Trevor Wilde, MBA, AIF® being named to Barron’s annual list of top 1,200 advisors nationwide and No. 1 overall in Arizona. This is Wilde’s 15th consecutive year being honored and his 5th year in a row among the top five advisors in Arizona. It also marks Wilde’s second time being named to the No. 1 position.

Barron's published its first ranking in 2004 to shine a spotlight on the nation’s best wealth managers and raise standards in the industry. The teams are ranked on a variety of factors, including their size and shape, their regulatory records and credentials of their members, and the resources they have at their disposal to serve their client bases. The rankings are meant as a starting point for clients looking for an advisor—a first-pass vetting that can help investors narrow a search. Every advisor will have his or her own approach to investing, financial planning, and other services. Clients are encouraged to approach a search for an advisor the way they would a search for a doctor—interviewing multiple professionals and getting opinions from multiple third parties. Barron’s publishes four individual advisor rankings each year (Top 100 Advisors, Top 100 Women Advisors, Top 100 Independent Advisors, Top 1,200 Advisors) along with three team- or firm-based rankings (Top RIA Firms, Top Institutional Consultants, Top Wealth Management Firms).

Wilde Wealth Management Group, the brainchild of Wilde and his father William, was founded in 2003.

“We had a vision to offer boutique investment and planning advice in a fiduciary capacity, and to offer clients expanded in-house service offerings from fellow independent experts and specialists in the fields of legal, taxes, risk management, family services, real estate and even insurance,” says Wilde. “Prior, I worked in finance at a larger firm, and my father had been in the industry for decades. The time was right to build something together.”

Over the past two decades, the team – now with Trevor at the helm as CEO and William on the board of directors – grew from one office to one of the largest comprehensive wealth management teams in the Southwest.

“Today, we have offices in Tempe, Tucson, Payson, Glendale and Sedona in addition to our headquarters in Scottsdale, which we expanded from 6,000 to 12,000 square feet in 2022,” says Wilde. “We also have offices in Indiana, Florida, and California.”

Beyond the Wilde offices, the business has grown exponentially by bringing on affiliates, boutique and like-minded finance teams seeking their comprehensive model and partnership. Affiliates across the Southwest include In Touch Wealth Advisors, Huish Wealth Management, Rizzo Financial Group and Self Wealth Management in Scottsdale; JRS Wealth Management and Hallmark Financial in Tucson; Mosaic Financial Associates in Tempe; and Premier Wealth Management Group in Albuquerque.

“One of the reasons for affiliates gravitated toward us is our strategic partnerships,” says Wilde. “We can offer such a deep bench of services beyond traditional retirement and financial support – from tax services and estate planning to mortgage assistance and even college planning – thanks to our investment in them.”

Currently, Wilde works closely with several well-respected partners – many of whom now work directly in Wilde’s Valleywide offices physically under the same roof – including ECA Financial Services for health insurance and benefits support; Taylor Elite Group for mortgage and real estate support; Phelps LaClair, who provides estate planning services; AZ College Planning; and Mike Patinella, CPA, Registered Representative, who provides certified tax planning services.

In 2022, Wilde also launched Wilde Wealth Insurance. The new in-house firm, which is in Wilde’s Scottsdale office, offers corporate and individual insurances services, business insurance – including general liability, property, workers compensation and more – life and disability insurance, long-term care insurance, and homeowners and renter’s insurance.

As the business’ roots became firmly planted, the Wilde family started looking at ways to pay it forward. Enter Wilde for Arizona™. The community outreach program empowers the entire firm to be active volunteers, fundraisers, and neighborhood champions.

“In addition to supporting our team members’ board positions, we offer firmwide opportunities to fundraise and give back together at least quarterly,” says Wilde, who himself is a board member for Junior Achievement of Arizona and Child Crisis Arizona.

Currently, the firm is working on a fundraising program for Phoenix Children’s Hospital, where team member Greg Anthony is a board member. Prior, the team rolled up it sleeves for a wide variety of organizations including Chrysalis, Cell Phones for Soldiers, Free Arts for Abused Children, Southwest Human Development, Sunshine Acres, Briggs 4 Kidz, Toys for Tots, Child Crisis Arizona, and more.

“We also fund a scholarship through Arizona Tuition Connection to help students in need to attend Notre Dame Prep,” says Wilde, who with fellow Wilde advisor Jason Fial just made a $85,000 contribution to the scholarship in 2022.

The firm’s responsible growth, expertise as it relates to client service and community stewardship have led to several awards in addition to the most recent announcements.

In April, Forbes named Wilde to its 2023 Best-In-State Wealth Advisors list. Only 150 advisors from across Arizona were named to the prestigious list, with Wilde being named the No. 2 overall advisor statewide. This is his third year in a row earning the No. 2 overall ranking. Wilde has also been recognized as an “AZ Business Angel” by AZ Business Magazine and as a “Most Admired Leader” in Arizona by the Phoenix Business Journal. Firm chief operating officer Jaclyn Yoder has also been recognized among the “40 Under 40” by the Phoenix Business Journal. In 2022, the firm was selected to BestCompaniesAZ’s “Most Admired Companies,” its second year in a row earning the honor. Wilde Wealth was also named a finalist for the Phoenix Business Journal’s “Small Business of the Year Awards.”
