Ballet Arizona Announces New Board Member
By Claire Natale - Wednesday Jan 19, 2022
Ballet Arizona is honored to welcome its newest board member, Heba Fayed to the Ballet Arizona family. Fayed has years of professional dance and chorographer experience and is currently a soloist with Bay Pointe Ballet.

As a board member, Fayed will utilize her dance and business experience to help Ballet Arizona advance its mission of preserving and celebrating classical dance, creating and commissioning innovative new works and serving the people of Arizona through education and community engagement programming. The board currently consists of 21 members with four directors, all dedicated to fostering the arts in Arizona.

“I am proud to be a board member of Ballet Arizona as these dancers are truly inspirational with their skill, dedication, and hard work through tough times and injuries,” said Fayed. “My goal is to help the organization grow in many directions and serve as a voice for the dancers. I hope to make Ballet Arizona accessible to all Arizonans and broaden it physically and artistically to the Arizona community.”

Fayed has taught in Egypt, Italy, and California, and has participated in many choreography workshops abroad by well-known dancers and choreographers. She has directed and owned a ballet school, Peninsula Dance Academy, in California for the last 12 years.

“We are exceedingly grateful for the board members, who go above and beyond to extend their skillsets to Ballet Arizona,” said Samantha Turner, Ballet Arizona executive director. “Fayed is a valuable addition to our board and we are excited to see the future goals she accomplishes.”

Fayed joined the Academy of Arts Ballet Institute in Cairo, Egypt, at age 8. She graduated with a final mark of “Excellent,” and then danced with the Corps de Ballet in the Cairo Opera Ballet Company. Fayed became a principal dancer with the Cairo Opera Modern Dance Company, a contemporary dance company that performed in Europe, Asia, and the United States.
