ASSISTANCE LEAGUE® OF PHOENIX ANNOUNCES GRANT FROM THE NINA MASON PULLIAM CHARITABLE TRUST
By Lindsay Hansen - Tuesday Nov 30, 2021
The Assistance League® of Phoenix has received a grant totaling $20,000 from the Nina Mason Pulliam Charitable Trust to support Operation School Bell®.

“Our agency provides over 8,500 children living in poverty with new school clothing and shoes each year,” said Aimee Runyon, CEO of Assistance League of Phoenix. “We are so thankful for this grant from the Nina Mason Pulliam Charitable Trust, which will give us additional resources to reach more families in need.”

“How can you measure the importance of helping a child be adequately clothed as they head to school each day? We are pleased to support Assistance League of Phoenix in their mission to provide new, well-fitting school clothes and shoes to children with limited financial resources,” said Trustee Chair Carol Schilling, Nina Mason Pulliam Charitable Trust.

The nonprofits signature program is delivered through its mobile dressing centers, the Delivering Dreams Buses. Assistance League of Phoenix collaborates with more than 90 Title I schools throughout the year. Each school can select up to 100 children who qualify for the program (students on the free or reduced lunch program). Once on board the Delivering Dream Bus, students work with volunteers to select correct sizes. Each student receives a bundle of items valued at approximately $200-250 and includes two bottoms, three tops, six pair of socks, six underwear, a sweatshirt, belt, a pair of shoes, a book of their choice, and a personalized health kit full of hygiene items.
