Arizona Veterans Open Full-Service Eye Care Center in Mesa
By Melody Pierce - Monday Nov 08, 2021
MESA, Ariz. – Carrot Lasik and Eye Center recently opened its doors with state-of-the-art technology and a dedicated service team to bring the best possible eye care options to Arizona. Dr. Matthew Hammond and Dr. Michael Herion are both military veterans with a passion for individualized treatment with the newest equipment and technology.

Dr. Hammond previously served nine years on active duty as an ophthalmologist. He is being deployed in January of 2022 and Dr. Herion will continue to provide excellent ophthalmic care as Carrot will remain open for business. Both medical professionals received many awards during their service including Dr. Herion received the Air Force Commendation Medal for his service during The Global War on Terror and Dr. Hammond received the Meritorious Service Medal and the Humanitarian award for his relief work after Hurricane Katrina.
“We are so excited to connect with the community and help children and adults with their eye care needs, just like how we would help our own family,” said Dr. Herion. “It’s important that our patients don’t wait for their appointments and are able to receive one-on-one care with the best technology to fix every eye or vision problem they might encounter.”

Carrot Lasik and Eye Center offers six different vision correction services including Lasik for the treatment of cataracts, glaucoma, dry eye and more. The highlight of Carrot Eye Center is their treatment options specialized to fit every need including SMILE, a new, cutting-edge form of Lasik that utilizes one laser instead of two. The center also provides routine services including glasses, contacts and eye exams.

“We all need our eyes to be healthy to perform everyday tasks, do our jobs and connect with others, which is why it’s so important for people to prioritize their eye care,” said Dr. Hammond. We make this as easy as possible with efficient appointments and friendly service.”
