Arizona Gives Day is Tuesday, April 6. This statewide, 24-hour online giving campaign is especially important for Duet: Partners In Health & Aging as it celebrates its 40-year anniversary as a partner in health and aging to Arizona seniors, one of the most at-risk populations of the COVID-19 virus.
DONATE - Early Giving March 16 to April 5 (azgives.org/duetaz)
This year, Duet’s goal is to raise $12,000 in Arizona Gives Day donations to support its mission to promote health and well-being through its vitally needed, free-of-charge services to homebound adults, family caregivers, faith communities, and grandfamilies.
When the pandemic started, Duet quickly and creatively pivoted to provide services virtually. With the help of 419 volunteer heroes, Duet ensured that isolated seniors continued to receive their groceries, friendly phone calls, and rides to their medical appointments - and most recently, to vaccine appointments. Community support is crucially needed to meet the increased demand for services. All donations made beginning March 16 throughout the campaign on Duet’s Arizona Gives Day page at azgives.org/duetaz will count toward Duet’s total during the 24-hour day of statewide giving on April 6. Donations totaling up to $6,000 will be generously matched. Duet is a Qualifying Arizona Charitable Tax Credit Organization (individuals can receive up to $400, and couples filing jointly up to $800). Always seek tax advice from a tax advisor.
In addition to raising funds on Arizona Gives Day, the organization is actively recruiting more volunteers to deliver compassion, dignity, and hope to homebound seniors. Duet brings together caring volunteers with homebound adults, “neighbors,†who can no longer drive yet wish to remain living in their own homes with dignity. Additional volunteers are needed in Phoenix, Peoria, Glendale, Paradise Valley, Fountain Hills, and Scottsdale – south of Bell, to help provide services that include rides to medical and vaccine appointments, grocery shopping and delivery, and friendly phoning and visits. The next virtual volunteer orientation for Duet is on April 21. Interested future volunteers can e-mail volunteer@duetaz.org for more information.
