What: Join Ability360 for a weekend of networking and education that supports American Indians with disabilities and their families, bridging gaps and offering opportunities and resources in rural and urban tribal communities.
Who: This event is open to members of the public and the Ability360 family to encourage community, education and advocacy.
When: American Indian Disability Summit: Friday, April 12, 2024, from 8:30 a.m. – 4 p.m.
American Indian Youth Disability Summit: Saturday, April 13, 2024, from 9:30 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Where: Sessions held on April 12, 2024, can be attended virtually or in-person at the Desert Willow Conference Center located at 4340 E. Cotton Center Blvd. in Phoenix.
All sessions on April 13, 2024, are being held virtually via Zoom.
Why: The 20th Annual American Indian Disability Summit “Gathering Native Voices – Employment, Time to Get to Work,” brings together a variety of speakers addressing issues that face tribal communities, including supporting youth with disabilities in their transition to employment, stereotyping in the media, advocating for the disabled and more.
The 4th Annual American Indian Youth Disability Summit will take place virtually on Saturday, April 13, and will highlight voices of American Indian youth with disabilities and focus on aspects of American Indian life, history, culture and heritage that can help attendees understand and address today’s challenges.
